Andy Dick is reflecting on the near-fatal drug overdose that landed him in rehab for nearly two months.
â[Iâve been to rehab] many, many, many, many, many times. This one feels different, I think, mostly because I actually legit died, and I canât believe I came back to life,â the comedian told Page Six in an exclusive phone interview Monday after checking out of a treatment center in Palm Springs, Calif.
Dick, 60, made sure to credit his documentarians-turned-friends, Adam Carbone and Alexander âBilly John Ohâ Bailey, with saving his life on Dec. 9, 2025.
âIt looks bad on [my family and friends] when I fâk up. They get sât on as well. ⊠But Iâm my own worst enemy, as they say,â he acknowledged.
âThey werenât there giving me drugs, which people think. No, I escaped from them to go be âBad Andy.â And I got away from them, but they followed me, but it was too late. I had ran into a group of people and just did drugs as quickly as I could and promptly died.â
Carbone and Bailey were filming Dick on the streets of Hollywood when he ran off, saw a man smoking crack cocaine and took a hit.
A video of the unresponsive actor â which showed him slumped over on the cement stairs of a building, with his glasses on the ground in front of him â quickly went viral.
In the footage, a panicked Bailey was seen leaning Dick back and administering Narcan, a nasal spray medication used to reverse opioid overdoses.
Dick told us it took four doses for him to regain consciousness, and once he did, his mind was on one thing.
âThis is not funny, and I donât remember this, but they say I came back to life, sat up and the first thing outta my mouth was, âWhereâs the vodka?ââ Dick revealed. âI donât remember. I was still out of it ⊠just coming back from death and Narcanâd up. I was out of my mind.â
Carbone, who was on the phone as well, said he and the responding paramedics encouraged Dick to go to the hospital. Dick, however, âwanted to go to the bar.â
Asked whether alcohol is his true âkryptonite,â the âAndy Dick Showâ star lamented, âIt really is. I was telling somebody just today, I was saying, âI would be lying if I said Iâm not thinking about drinking now, but I donât want it. I donât want it to be out of my life forever, but I think maybe it has to be out of my life forever.ââ
He quickly remembered the recovery mantra of focusing on âone day at a time.â
Despite Dickâs immediate opposition to going to rehab, he changed his tune just a few days later after his former âSober Houseâ co-star Jennifer Gimenez and her husband, Tim Ryan, got him a âfull-ride scholarship offerâ to the Palm Springs treatment center.
âThank God I went to that place. I loved it. I met some great people,â gushed Dick, who now resides at a sober living facility near Beverly Hills.
Though the sober living facility has âthe same rulesâ as rehab, Dick noted that he is âencouragedâ to leave the house and experience life.
