Brace yourselves: low-rise jeans — and butt cracks — are coming back in the name of the naked look.
On Feb. 27, Diesel debuted its Fall/Winter 2025 collection that, instead of featuring shearling coats and wool accessories, showcased a sexy denim silhouette that singlehandedly revived a polarizing trend of the 1990s: bumper jeans.
For Milan Fashion Week, the Italian label debuted super-low-rise straight-leg jeans placed so low on the hips that they revealed just a hint of butt crack.
Only a few models walked down the catwalk in the NSFW pants, their bum cleavage made more apparent by their topless appearances (one of the female models however wore a top that was backless).
Bumpers have been around since Alexander McQueen debuted the near-bosom-exposing silhouette in his 1993 “Taxi Driver” collection, per Vogue. As described by museum curator Andrew Bolton, who also works on the Met Gala exhibitions with Anna Wintour, McQueen designed bumpers to elongate the frame and show off the undercurve of the spine.
Also featured in Diesel’s seasonal collection were super sheer nipple-revealing dresses and denim skirts so short that it put the no-pants look to shame.
According to a press release, the capsule was designed to be “elevated yet disrupted, corrupted, slashed, destroyed, and impossibly low-cut.” It was presented in an installation designed with graffiti art done by almost 7,000 amateur and expert artists.

We wouldn’t be surprised if Diesel’s suggestive style made its way on the red carpet soon, as more and more celebrities have been getting increasingly comfortable with butt-showing, naked-forward looks on the red carpet.

Take for example, Katy Perry, who partially flashed both of her butt cheeks in a Ellie Misner lace-up skirt and G-string, and Zendaya who defined the future of fashion at the Dune 2 London premiere in an archival Mugler robot suit with clear PVC cheek cutouts.
Even Dua Lipa couldn’t resist showing a bit of her bosom at last year’s Met Gala, opting for a Marc Jacobs corset and lace skirt styled strategically to make a very sexy statement.
This year’s awards season circuit, which concludes on Sunday, March 2, with the Oscars, has seen many gowns with daring open backs.
Miley Cyrus, Nicole Kidman and Kylie Jenner all wore dresses that dipped low to the Golden Globes, while Sabrina Carpenter made headlines in a Johnathan Anderson number with a hemline so low it hit her butt.
