Sitting down for a lunch break during production of NBC’s new spinoff legal drama, Suits LA, star Bryan Greenberg chatted with PEOPLE for One Last Thing.

When asked about the last time he felt nostalgic, the actor, 46, who’s dad to twin 3-year-old sons with wife of nine years, actress Jamie Chung, immediately thought of the recent devastating fires in Los Angeles. Greenberg and Chung lost their house in the blaze.

“It was weird during the fires because you have to grab something, and you’re like, ‘What do I get?'” he says. “I just grabbed all these photo albums. So that was a little nostalgic. That’s the only thing that, in your time of crisis, it’s like, what are you going to take? I was like, ‘These are things I won’t get back.'”

Posting a video from the fires back in January on Instagram, Greenberg captioned his post: “Thankfully our family is safe, however other LA fire victims aren’t as fortunate. Please donate to them if you can. Link in bio.”

The actor, who plays attorney Rick Dodsen, protégé of Ted Black (Stephen Amell) in the entertainment division of Black Lane Law on the new series, shared more of his “lasts” in this week’s issue:

Last time I sang out loud
I was a singer in a different life, so now I play my kids my songs every night. I think one of them may have gotten the bug, but no way — doctor, lawyer, that’s it.

Last time I was out of my comfort zone
I had to do an accent for a scene on Suits LA that may or may not be the end of my career when it airs. It won’t be good, but it might be funny, and that’s what matters.

Last time I cursed
Today? I’m the worst. I’m not a good role model when it comes to that. I’m conscious of it after I do it: “Oh my God, I probably shouldn’t have said that.”

Last time I was mistaken for someone
Michael Bublé, all the time. And now you can’t unsee it. I don’t hate it. People really do it every December when his Christmas album comes out of its lair.

Suits LA premieres Feb. 23 at 9pm ET/PT on NBC and will be available to stream on Peacock the next day.
