Brooke Shields has expanded her family! The Mother of the Bride actress, 61, delighted fans after her eldest daughter, Rowan Francis Henchy, introduced the family’s adorable new puppy in a sweet TikTok video shared on Monday.
“So, there has been a really large development in the Shields-Henchy household,” Rowan teased at the start of the clip before revealing the tiny pup curled up in her lap.
“This is Shippy,” the 23-year-old announced as someone off-camera exclaimed: “She’s perfect.”
Showing off the newest addition, Rowan gushed: “This is the newest puppy. Are you kidding me? Look at this face. And she has a big belly, and she just loves to be cradled like a baby.”
She added that Shippy is “perfect because she looks like a little goat.”
The heartwarming video quickly became a family celebration. Brooke soon appeared on camera to cuddle and kiss the puppy, while her youngest daughter, Grier Hammond Henchy, 20, also stopped by to shower Shippy with affection.
The actress shares Rowan and Grier with her husband of more than two decades, film producer Chris Henchy. The couple married in 2001.
Shippy is now the third canine member of the Shields-Henchy household, joining beloved rescue dogs Tuzi and Cluny.
Rowan has often spoken about her love of animals. In a post shared with the Animal Farm Foundation earlier this year, she revealed how much her two dogs mean to her.
“I recently graduated from college and love spending my free time with my two dogs,” she wrote.
“Tuzi is a 60-pound dog that looks like a pit bull, who was overlooked by others because of her unique tail, but she quickly became an irreplaceable part of my life.”
She added: “Cluny was rescued in December, and despite being the complete opposite of Tuzi in personality, they are both incredible dogs. Whether we’re going for long walks, visiting the dog park, or simply soaking up the sun together, they bring so much joy to my everyday life.”
The family’s latest addition comes after a heartbreaking loss. In February 2023, Brooke announced the death of the family’s beloved dog, Pepper.
“Today we had to say goodbye to our beloved furry girl Pepper, aka ‘Magoo.’ It was the hardest thing we have ever had to do. She was Pure Love,” the actress wrote alongside a series of touching photographs.
Just a few months later, Brooke introduced Tuzi to fans with another adorable Instagram post. “World, meet Tuzi,” she wrote. “Tuzi, meet world. You know we couldn’t go long without puppy love in our house.”
The photographs showed Brooke lovingly cradling the tiny puppy like a newborn before lifting her into the air for a kiss.
