Oh, baby, baby, Britney Spears just had an epic reunion with Kim Kardashian — and her sister Khloé Kardashian came along for the ride.
“Calabasas Nights,” Kim, 45, wrote via her Instagram Story on Friday, November 14, sharing a selfie with Khloé, 41, Spears, 43, and the “Circus” singer’s manager, Cade Hudson.
In the pic, the group lounged on a bed and made silly faces at the camera.
Kim sported a black robe with her hair in a slicked-back bun for the occasion, while Khloé opted for a pair of Christmas-themed pajamas and wore her tresses down in loose waves. Spears, for her part, donned a yellow-and-white ensemble, and Hudson wore a Mickey Mouse T-shirt with a dark hoodie and baseball cap.
Kim and Spears’ Friday meetup marks the first time in 13 years that they’ve reunited. The duo were last photographed together at a 2012 Grammy Awards party.
“Kim and Britney met a few times before,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time. “Kim has been to her concert a few times. Britney and Kim love each other.”
According to the insider, Kim and the pop star spoke about “normal girlie things” at the pre-Grammys bash.
Nearly a decade later, Kim publicly expressed her admiration for Spears after watching the 2021 Framing Britney Spears documentary that chronicled the singer’s 13-year conservatorship.
“The way the media played a big role in her life the way it did can be very traumatizing and it can really break even the strongest person,” Kim wrote via her Instagram Story in March 2021. “No matter how public someone’s life may seem, no one deserves to be treated with such cruelty or judgment for entertainment.”
Kim further stressed that she empathized with Spears, having dealt with similar comments about her appearance through the years, especially while she was pregnant with daughter North. (Kim shares four children with her ex-husband Kanye West.)
“I was shamed on a weekly basis that made my insecurities so painful I couldn’t leave the house for months after,” Kim added at the time. “It really broke me. [I took] these frustrating, embarrassing feelings and channeled it into motivation.”
She concluded, “Everyone involved in the business of shaming and bullying someone to the point of breaking them down might reconsider and instead try to show some understanding and compassion. You just never fully know what someone is going through behind the scenes and I’ve learned through my own experiences that it’s always better to lead with kindness.”
After a series of mental health struggles in the early 2000s, Spears was placed under a conservatorship run by her father, Jamie, and Jodi Montgomery over her estate and person.
“I’ll just be honest and say I’ve waited so long to be free from the situation I’m in … and now that it’s here I’m scared to do anything because I’m afraid I’ll make a mistake,” Spears wrote via Instagram in October 2021. “For so many years I was always told if I succeeded at things, it could end … and it never did!!! I worked so hard but now that it’s here and getting closer and closer to ending I’m very happy but there’s a lot of things that scare me.”
A judge ultimately terminated the guardianship in November 2021.
