Bridget Fonda was glowing in her latest public appearance in Los Angeles, which saw her step out in a colorful cardigan that showcased her unique style. The 62-year-old looked incredible in a pair of black trousers, a green tee, a brown collared shirt and a bright cardigan over the top.Â
The cardigan, which featured blue, yellow, red and green sections, also had a car design stitched onto the front. Bridget accessorized the outfit with black sneakers and a navy cross-body bag, and wore her gray locks in an updo.Â
Bridget’s outing on Tuesday marked her first appearance since December and saw the mom of one looking slimmer than ever amid her weight loss journey. She has lost approximately 100 lbs in the past year, and has been spotted on numerous occasions running errands around LA while showcasing her athletic figure.Â
Bridget rose to fame in the ’80s and ’90s, and is best known for her roles in The Godfather Part III, Single White Female, Scandal, Jackie Brown, Point of No Return and A Simple Plan. The star was nominated twice for a Golden Globe, and once for an Emmy, and was often compared to her famous grandfather, actor Henry Fonda.Â
“She acts in the great tradition of her grandfather, which is less is more,” said Barbet Schroeder, the director of Single White Female, to The New York Times. “I’ve never known any actor, except maybe Jeremy Irons, who knows so much, who’s such a total pro.”Â
Bridget’s father, Peter Fonda, also shared his admiration for his daughter and her work ethic. “To my father, acting was everything. It was escape; it was therapy,” he told the publication.Â
“Bridget isn’t like that. It’s not compulsive; it’s not out of fear. With her, it’s basically about packing in as many good films as she can, while she can. She just knows what she wants.”Â
Bridget was Peter’s eldest child, whom he welcomed with Susan Brewer in 1964, before their son, Justin, came along in 1966. When the couple split in 1972, Bridget and Justin lived with their mother and saw their father when they could.Â
Although her parents’ divorce created an “abandonment thing” for her, she got “along with [Peter] really well” in her adulthood and remained close to him until his death in August 2019.Â
“I grew up around adults who were imaginative and spontaneous, sure, and it was fantastic to go on that ride…And my dad would chase me round the tennis court on roller-skates,” she told The Guardian in 2000.Â
“I mean, my dad may have been a hippy biker in the public mind, but he was always a classy, well-turned-out hippy.” Bridget retired from acting altogether in 2002, with her final credit being the TV movie Snow Queen release in the same year.Â
She then welcomed her son, Oliver, in 2005 with her husband, Danny Elfman. When asked in 2023 if she would ever consider returning to acting, she simply replied: “No. I don’t think so, it’s too nice being a civilian.”
