Nick Cannon thought Bre Tiesi was “nuts” for joining “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.”
The “Selling Sunset” star spoke exclusively to Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea,” and revealed how Cannon — with whom she shares four-year-old son Legendary — reacted to her joining the Fox show’s fifth season.
“He was like, ‘Good luck,’” Tiesi, 35, told us. “He definitely was like, ‘Girl, why? Why do you want to do this?’”
In “Special Forces,” a group of celebrity recruits are put through the rigorous Special Forces selection process, led by real-life former military operatives.
Tiesi said it was actually her ex-husband, former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel, who convinced her to sign on for Season 5.
“Johnny was like, ‘No, you can do this,’” Tiesi told us, noting that Manziel warned that she would “hate” talking about her “feelings” and her personal story with the directing staff.
Manziel, otherwise known as Johnny Football, had previously competed on “Special Forces” Season 4, though he voluntarily withdrew from the course during a claustrophobia-inducing challenge that forced him to crawl through a series of underground tunnels.
Tiesi and Manziel tied the knot in March 2018, and separated the following year. Their divorce was finalized in November 2021.
Cannon, for his part, “would never” do “Special Forces,” according to Tiesi.
The pair has been in an on-again, off-again “open” relationship for years.
Tiesi shared in a 2024 episode of the “Wednesdays” podcast that she and Cannon were “very much together,” though admitted he has “other partners.”
In addition to the son he shares with Tiesi, Cannon is also father to 11 other children: twins Moroccan and Monroe, 15, with his ex-wife, Mariah Carey; sons Golden, 9, and Rise, 4, and daughter Powerful Queen, 5, with Brittany Bell; twins Zion and Zillion, 5, and daughter Beautiful, 3, with Abby De La Rosa; daughter Onyx, 4, with LaNisha Cole; and daughter Halo Marie, 3, with Alyssa Scott.
Cannon and Scott also welcomed son Zen in 2021, though he tragically passed away at five months old after being diagnosed with brain cancer.
