Brandon Blackstock’s daughter Savannah Blackstock Lee is praising her late dad’s partner, Brittney Marie Jones, for continuing his legacy following his death.
Savannah, 23, took to her Instagram Story on Sunday, December 7, to praise Jones for working on Headwaters Livestock Auction, the company they created together before he died from cancer in August at the age of 48.
“Yesterday @headwaterlivestock had their very first Cowboy Christmas and Ranch horse sale… all my dad wanted to do was bring the community together, and @britneymariej is doing the most beautiful job continuing to bring his dreams to life,” Savannah wrote in her post. “I’m heartbroken I wasn’t there to witness this in person, but I know it was magical and made my dad so proud of his team.”
Before meeting Jones, Brandon was married to Kelly Clarkson from 2013 to 2020. The exes shared daughter River, 11, and son Remington, 9. He shared Savannah and son Seth, 18, with first wife Melissa Ashworth.
A rep from Brandon’s family confirmed his death following a three-year battle with melanoma on August 7.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,” the family told Us Weekly in a statement at the time. “Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”
In Brandon’s obituary, Jones was referred to as Brandon’s “beautiful and loving partner in life and business.”
“Brandon, along with his beautiful and loving partner in life and business, Brittney Marie Jones, started building a life, building companies and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction and what will live on as his legacy, The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana,” the obituary read.
Jones, who once worked as an assistant for Clarkson, 43, had been quietly dating Brandon prior to his death and had reportedly been close to his children.
“Brandon and Brittney were in a relationship, and his family was very happy and supportive,” a source exclusively told Us in August. “Brandon was very private, especially after leaving the entertainment industry, but his family embraced his relationship with Brittney.”
Savannah, for her part, opened up about the loss of her father in an emotional Instagram post shared several weeks after his death.
“My daddy never fell short of making my dreams come true. No matter how high or how far, he made a way,” she wrote on August 19. “Not only did he make my dreams come true, he chased them with me. Worldwide he was there, my biggest cheerleader. He is my best friend, my voice of reason, and my favorite phone call every day.”
Alongside the tribute, Savannah shared a carousel of photos of her life with her father over the years.
“I lost a piece of my heart and my favorite Cowboy, but Heaven gained an angel,” she continued. “I’m so thankful for the time I did have and I can’t wait for eternity. I love you daddy and I will miss you indefinitely. Enjoy your ranch up there, God designed it with your heart’s desires in mind. ❤️.”
