Bradley and Barney Walsh announce ‘exciting’ news – and fans will be thrilled

Bradley and Barney Walsh are teaming up once again for a brand new series of their hit ITV travel series, Breaking Dad. 

The father-son duo will head Down Under on their latest adventure, which will see the pair face a packed schedule of “adrenaline-rushing” challenges as Barney continues to push his dad out of his comfort zone. 

Since its inception in 2019, the show has amassed a legion of loyal fans, who often praise Bradley and Barney’s authentic on-screen chemistry. The pair have proved to be a winning duo thanks to their genuine and heartwarming father-son bond, and viewers are undoubtedly counting down the days until their next fun-filled trip arrives on our screens.

What to expect from Breaking Dad season seven

In the new six-part series, Bradley, 65, and Barney, 28, will take in the vast wilderness and coastal thrills of Australia.

The synosis continues: “As ever, Bradley won’t be getting the rest and relaxation he’s dreaming of. Barney has planned a packed itinerary full of adrenaline-rushing challenges designed to push his dad to the limit across the Australian outback and beyond.”

Dan Baldwin, the Managing Director at production company Hungry Bear Media, said the upcoming series is “one of the best yet,” adding that the show “brilliantly captures the messy, hilarious, and heartwarming reality of family travel”. 

What have Bradley and Barney said about the new series? 

While Bradley is pleased to reunite with his son on another incredible journey, he shared his apprehension about the upcoming challenges. “It’s so good to be back on the road again with Barney,” said the presenter.

“We really do have the best time but I’m not quite sure what he has up his sleeve on this trip, which is slightly worrying,” he continued. “I was looking forward to a bit of sunshine and maybe a nice barbecue but knowing Barney, I’ll be dodging great whites or jumping out of a plane before breakfast.”

Meanwhile, Barney added: “I’m excited to embark on this new adventure with my dad and get him to experience the incredible culture, local activities and landscapes of Australia.

“It’s going to be an exciting and adrenaline-fuelled road trip with lots of fun and laughter. Australia is such an iconic destination with so much to offer – I can’t wait to see us both get stuck in Down Under!”

Inside Bradley and Barney’s father-son relationship 

It’s no secret that Bradley and Barney share a close bond. The former Coronation Street star has often spoken about the joys of working with his son, with whom he also co-hosts Gladiators on BBC One. 

“He has always been my son, and you always take care of them. But then all of a sudden he becomes your equal and a work colleague, and a mate, and someone you respect,” Bradley previously said on ITV’s This Morning.

“Now I look up to him,” he continued, adding: “Barney, bless him, was directing me on some of the things, ‘Dad don’t worry about this, you need to be thinking about this’, and actually producing me.”

During an appearance on The Tommy Tiernan Show, Bradley said that working on Breaking Dad was “one of the most wonderful things I’ve ever done” because he gets to spend time with Barney. 

He added: “I always say this about him, he’s the man I’ve always wanted to be.”

When will Breaking Dad season 7 be released?
