Bob Dylan isnât planning on celebrating the success of the biopic A Complete Unknown by making stops in the countryâs biggest cities. The âLike a Rolling Stoneâ singer has been on his Never Ending Tour since 1988, playing over 3,000 shows around the world. Since 2021, the tour has focused on songs from Dylanâs 2020 album, Rough and Rowdy Ways, with him and his band performing nearly every song from the record.Â
Over the summer, Dylan changed things up for the Outlaw Music Festival Tour alongside Willie Nelson. For those shows, Dylanâs setlist dropped most of the Rough and Rowdy Ways songs in favor of songs like âAll Along the Watchtowerâ and âThings Have Changed.â He also tossed in surprising covers of blues classics and Grateful Dead songs just to keep fans on their toes.
The spring 2025 shows will also be Dylanâs first since the successful release of A Complete Unknown. Director James Mangoldâs film features TimothĂ©e Chalamet as Dylan and tracks his early years in New York City, leading up to the 1965 Newport Folk Festival.
A Complete Unknown scored eight Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actor for Chalamet, 29, and Best Director for Mangold. Edward Norton and Monica Barbaro earned nominations for their supporting performances as Pete Seeger and Joan Baez, respectively.

Chalametâs performance also earned praise from Dylan himself.
âThereâs a movie about me opening soon called A Complete Unknown (what a title!),â Dylan wrote on X in December. âTimothee Chalamet is starring in the lead role. Timmyâs a brilliant actor so Iâm sure heâs going to be completely believable as me. Or a younger me. Or some other me.â
Dylan went on to advise his fans to read Elijah Waldâs Dylan Goes Electric!, the book that Mangold and Jay Cocksâ Oscar-nominated script is based on. âItâs a fantastic retelling of events from the early â60s that led up to the fiasco at Newport,â Dylan wrote. âAfter youâve seen the movie read the book.â
âFloored. I am so grateful,â Chalamet replied. âThank you Bob.â
A Complete Unknown is now in theaters.
