Beyoncé’s daughters Blue Ivy, 14, and Rumi, eight, have ensured that the products in their mom’s Cécred range are just right.

The award-winning singer recently stepped out with her mom, Tina Knowles, and Blue Ivy to attend a private hair show in LA this week, showcasing the latest hairstyling collection.

Each product had been tested on Blue and Rumi before hitting the shops, as Beyoncé recently revealed in a very rare interview.

Talking to WWD, the Texas Hold ‘Em hitmaker explained: “We have put each one of these to the test and I use it on my daughters before everything: blow dry, silk press, braid-out.”

Beyoncé also explained the significance of the range, telling the publication: “A lot of these products were designed from a desire to solve my own issues with my hair while on tour. I don’t use relaxers, so I’m very big on protecting the hair from heat damage when I style. Tour weather is unpredictable. Pouring rain, crazy humidity, some shows in 100 degree weather. I’m drenched in sweat and those styles must make it through a three-hour show. I wasn’t finding stylers that could perform at the necessary level without affecting my hair health.”

Cécred took years to develop before being lanched in February 2024. It was inspired by Beyoncé’s experience growing up working in her mom, Tina’s hair salon in Texas, and honors her legacy.

She explained on Instagram: “How many of y’all knew my first job was sweeping hair in my mama’s salon? I was exposed to so many different kinds of entrepreneurial women in her salon. I saw firsthand how the ways we nurture and celebrate hair can directly impact our souls. Having learned so much on my hair journey, I’ve always dreamed of carrying on her legacy. I can’t wait for you to experience what I’ve been creating.”

At the time, the star said in a press release: “The journey of creating Cécred has taken years, and I’m so proud to finally reveal what we’ve been working on. As a Black founder, it was important to me to concentrate on where I saw the greatest need for healthy haircare and to place scientific innovation and product performance above all else. We started by prioritizing the needs of textured hair like mine, along with other types and textures that need more moisture and strength.

“My entire life and career, I’ve worn my hair in so many different ways: natural, flat-ironed, braids, colored, weaves, wigs. I want everyone to have the freedom to express their hair in ways that make them feel good, so I began by creating the essentials for hair and scalp health. My vision is to be an inclusive force of excellence in the haircare industry while celebrating hair rituals across global cultures and helping dispel hair myths and misconceptions on all sides.”
