Blake Lively won’t let any legal drama prevent her from supporting her next big project.
On Friday, March 7, the actress stepped out at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas, for the SXSW world premiere of Another Simple Favor.
Lively, 37, chose to wear a ’50s-inspired mauve Renée Massoomian dress with a full skirt as she celebrated the A Simple Favor’s sequel with director Paul Feig and her costars, including Anna Kendrick, Bashir Salahuddin, Henry Golding, Michelle Morrone and Elizabeth Perkins. Kendrick hit the red carpet first, wearing a black LaQuan Smith bustier with matching satin tuxedo trousers and Bulgari jewelry. Feig, meanwhile, embraced the Lone Star State vibes in a cowboy hat and western-inspired jacket with fringe.
On February 26, Prime Video shared the first trailer for Another Simple Favor. As seen in the preview, the film tells the story of Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick) traveling to the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, to celebrate her friend Emily Nelson’s (Lively) extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman.
Along with the glamorous guests, viewers can expect murder and betrayal to RSVP for a wedding with more twists and turns than the road from the Marina Grande to the Capri town square.
The film marks Lively’s first movie release since her ongoing legal drama with former costar and It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni.
The Gossip Girl alum first filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni, 41, in December 2024, months after reports that the two faced creative differences while making the August 2024 film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel It Ends With Us. She also alleged that Baldoni attempted to launch a smear campaign against her.
Baldoni denied Lively’s allegations and filed his own lawsuit against the actress, her publicist, and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, in January. He is seeking $400 million in damages after accusing the trio of civil extortion, defamation, false light invasion of privacy and other claims. Lively and Reynolds, 48, deny his claims. Lively’s publicist has also asked to be removed from the suit.
The pair’s trial is set to begin on March 9, 2026. One person who appears to be supportive of Lively is the director of Another Simple Favor.
“I’ve now made two movies with Blake and all I can say is she’s one of the most professional, creative, collaborative, talented and kind people I’ve ever worked with,” Feig, 62, wrote via X in December 2024. “She truly did not deserve any of this smear campaign against her. I think it’s awful she was put through this.”
Another Simple Favor premieres on Prime Video Thursday, May 1.
