Beyoncé has a treat for fans this Election Day.
The Grammy winning songstress on Tuesday, Nov. 5 dropped a music video for ‘Bodyguard,” using the visual — the first from her Cowboy Carter album — not just as an opportunity to dress up as the iconic Pamela Anderson for Halloween (or Beylloween, as she calls it), but also as an chance to remind viewers to vote.
Sharing the video on social media, the 43-year-old star included the messaging both in hashtag and in one setup for the clip, in which the words were written on a flag coming out of a toy gun.
Late last month, Beyoncé officially endorsed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election, delivering an energetic speech in her home city of Houston, Texas during a Harris campaign stop. The move came Bey allowed Harris to use her Cowboy Carter track “Freedom” in promotional videos and as a walk-in track at events, including the Democratic National Convention.
But the “Bodyguard” visual was more about voting. The video really honored Anderson, Beyoncé recreating three memorable looks from the actress including that iconic red bathing suit worn by Anderson’s Baywatch character, lifeguard C.J. Parker.
Of course, the Destiny’s Child singer’s suit read “Beywatch” — a pun she also used as the name for the upload on YouTube.
Though it’s been nearly 30 years since Anderson wore her iconic one-piece on the set of the hit ’90s show, Anderson has said she still has one of the suits and slips into the maillot from time to time. “I put it on every once in a while — it still fits,” she told ET Canada in February 2023.
Other looks included Bey’s take on Anderson’s character in Barb Wire. Dressed in a tightly-cinched leather corset with plunging neckline and black opera gloves, she specifically appeared to recreate the look Anderson wore to the Barb Wire premiere at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival.
And then there was the eye-catching ensemble Anderson wore to the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards. Featuring a white corset top and sequined pant, the outfit is most known for its large feathery pink hat, which instantly became one of fashion’s most recognizable accessorizes.
Made by Ivy Supersonic, the hat was commissioned by Anderson herself. As the story goes, the designer had previously worked with Anderson’s on-again-off-again partner Tommy Lee, and when Anderson saw Supersonic’s hat work in Mötley Crüe’s “Get Naked” music video, she reached out.
“She came up to me and said, ‘Hey, so I’m [presenting at] the [VMAs] next week. Could you make me a pink feathered cowboy hat?'” Supersonic recalled The Hollywood Reporter in February 2022. “I made her this pink feathered — I can’t really call it a cowboy hat — it was just an Ivy Supersonic feathered hat. It was very big, pink and fluffy. I thought that she would like it, and I was hoping she would.”

Also on Tuesday, Beyoncé shared to Instagram a series of professional shots of her dressed in her Anderson drag.
“LOVE 🤍,” Anderson, 57, commented.
The pictures were also filled with Easter Eggs for Beyoncé fans, including calling the Video Music Awards the “No Visual Awards” — a nod to the fact that the BeyHive have long been waiting for music videos to Cowboy Carter and Beyoncé’s previous album, Renaissance.
“No visuals?!!! I’m crying,” one fan teased in the comment season. “Just playing in our face 😂.”
