Benjamin Hollingsworthâs life was changed by Virgin River in more ways than one. The 41-year-old actor is starring in season seven of the Netflix drama, which premiered on Thursday, March 12, 2026, and is recognized by fans on a âdaily basis.â
While fan interactions have definitely impacted his life, Benjaminâs real transformation came from filming in British Columbia, Canada. The actor, who is from Ontario, moved back to his home country to film Virgin River.
âIâd been in Los Angeles for 15 years [working] on different shows,â he told HELLO!. â[Virgin River was] the first time I really got to be consistently up there.â
Benjamin continued, telling HELLO!: âAfter season three, we decided that we would build a house and kind of make British Columbia our home base; which Iâm happy [about] because I have three kids and growing up in Canada myself, itâs a special honor and privilege to be raised that way.â
Who is Benjamin Hollingsworth married to?
The actor has been married to his wife, former model and designer, Nila Myers since 2012 and have three children together â Hemingway Nash, nine, Gatsby Willem, seven, and Juniper Bloom, five.Â
The couple met in 2010 and tied the knot two years later. On their 10 year anniversary, Nila wrote on Instagram: âWhen I first met Ben 10 years ago I never couldâve imagined that our life together would blossom into what it is today. We are so blessed to have our 3 beautiful babies.â
After starting their family in LA, they are officially a Canadian family, and that is something Benjamin is very proud of.
âI think sometimes Canadians take it for granted how lucky we are to live where we are and have the community that we have,â he told HELLO!. âAnd to feel like Virgin River is actually more representative of a Canadian community than it is an American one.Â
Benjamin added: âWe kind of live in a small town up here. So it is very similar to Virgin River, where weâre raising the kids. I mean, could you ask for a better spot?â
He and Nila share moments of their Canadian life to their social media often. From skiing in Whistler to enjoying the natural beauty of British Columbia, the couple and their three children are really taking it in.
Benjaminâs experience on Virgin River
On the show, Benjamin portrays Dan Brady, a veteran who served in the marines with Jack Sheridan â played by Martin Henderson. Going by âBrady,â the character is complicated. Initially a villain, he went on a complex redemption arc that made fans fall more in love with him.
âNothing [for Brady] comes easy,â Benjamin told HELLO!. âI feel like heâs just one of those people that just canât have nice things for whatever reason. Whenever heâs in a good place, something bad seems to happen.â
