Ben Affleck spent quality time with his two eldest kids, Violet, 20, and Fin, 17, after celebrating his birthday with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, a week prior.
The actor stepped out in black pants and a light-colored button-down as he took Violet and Fin to Fia, a restaurant in Santa Monica.
Quality family time
Violet stood tall in a red skirt that fell to her knees, paired with a purple sweater, running shoes and a cross-body bag. She wore a mask on her face as usual, with the university student speaking out in the past about the importance of public health.
Fin was dressed in dark-colored overalls and a striped long-sleeve shirt, paired with sneakers and a cross-body bag like their sister. Benās 14-year-old son, Samuel, was not present.
The family outing comes just a week after Ben was joined by Jennifer and their three children on August 22 to celebrate his 54th birthday at Farmshop in Los Angeles. Ben and Jennifer were married from 2005 to 2018, and have remained close friends as they continue to co-parent their kids. Ā

Saying goodbye to Chris
Benās outing with Violet and Fin was one of his first public appearances since the death of his beloved mother, Chris Affleck, who passed away in June following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
āHer greatest wish after her diagnosisā¦was to live to see her grandson [Atticus] graduate high school,ā her obituary in The Boston GlobeĀ read. āShe did so, attending with her family on May 31, 2026. She died peacefully, in her sleep, two days later.ā

Ben was incredibly close to his mom, and even shared a special moment with her when he and Matt Damon won the Best Original Screenplay Oscar for Good Will Hunting in 1998. āWe were sitting next to our moms, and we won, and we kind of hugged our moms. I remember how everyone had made such a big thing out of it as if this was such a novelty,ā Ben later told Vanity Fair.Ā
āThere was nobody else that was going to go. That was it. Of course, our moms were gonna go. That was really innocent and not faked.ā
