Celebrity hairstylist Jesus Guerrero was traveling and working with some of his closest clients prior to his sudden death at age 34.

Guerrero’s family announced his death on social media on Sunday, Feb. 23, shortly after he was in Dubai with Jennifer Lopez.

On Feb. 19, Lopez, 55, shared an Instagram post and tagged Guerrero, seemingly to credit him with her bouncy, wavy blowout. “Business trip âœšđŸ€Ž,” she captioned the post.

Lopez’s makeup artist Scott Barnes, who was also on the trip, shared a touching tribute on Instagram following his time spent with Guerrero abroad.

“I can’t believe I was just working with him in Dubai and now he’s gone,” the celebrity MUA wrote on Instagram after Guerrero’s sudden death. “Many prayers to his family during this time.”

Prior to his work trip with Lopez, Guerrero also spent time with longtime client and friend, Kylie Jenner.

On Feb. 12, the night before the reality star appeared at a pop-up event in Athens, Ga. promoting her canned vodka soda line, Sprinter, she shared a sweet snap with the L.A. hairstylist on Instagram.

In a photo dump, captioned “sprinted too hard last night,” the Khy founder, 27, included a picture of herself and the hairstylist cuddled up in bed together. Jenner leaned on his shoulder and held a case of the drinks as Guerrero, whose eyes were closed for the snap, held a single can.

The duo also spent more time together in early 2024 as Jenner traveled to attend industry events — like the Golden Globes — in support of boyfriend TimothĂ©e Chalamet as awards show season kicked off.

They also spent time together in Paris at the end of January as Jenner visited the French city for Paris Haute Couture Week. Guerrero later documented her hair looks from the eventful trip in a Jan. 31 Instagram post.

“Paris with my main girly!!! ❀,” he captioned the post showcasing Jenner’s Paris hair looks, from sleek buns to voluminous waves.

The sweet photo dump also contained a mirror selfie of the star and hairstylist. The duo both smiled softly in all-black for the photo, which appeared to be snapped during their downtime between fashion shows and events.

Guerrero’s final Instagram post came days later on Feb. 2, with the hairstylist sharing photos of Kali Uchis after he did her glam waves for the 2025 Grammy Awards.

Guerrero’s family announced his death in a series of Instagram Stories posts on Sunday, Feb. 23. “Our family would like to thank everyone for all the love and support during this hard time,” they wrote over a photo of the late hairstylist. “Jesus was the brightest light, we have never doubted that he touched the hearts and lives of everyone he came across.”

Later, alongside a final snapshot of the stylist, they added, “I don’t know how the world will go on without his light but I know he’ll give us the strength to push past any obstacle. RIP Jesus. We all love you.”

The family did not share a cause of death, but on a GoFundMe page, Guerrero’s younger sister Gris said that her sibling died “suddenly and unexpectedly.”

Alongside Jenner and Lopez, Guerrero’s other clients have included Jenner’s sisters Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian, as well as Katy Perry, Rosalía, Demi Moore, Charli xcx, Camila Cabello, Dua Lipa and Lisa of BLACKPINK.

Kim, 44, joined a number of celebrities sharing touching social media tributes in honor Guerrero.

Alongside a photo of her, her sisters and her mom Kris Jenner standing among their glam team, she wrote on her Instagram Stories, “Our glam fam means the world to us. We work together, vacation and celebrate our lives together! Our great respect for the art of hair and make up has led us to meeting some of the kindest souls and made some of our bestest friends.”

She continued, “So when one of our glam family members passes away all of our souls are crushed. My heart breaks for Kylie and everyone who loved Jesus the way we all did. I’m praying for his family, his loved ones and the whole beauty community who feels this deep loss of one of the most talented and kindest to ever do it.”
