Ballerina Farm’s Hannah Neeleman and her husband, Daniel Neeleman, are still searching for the perfect name for their ninth baby.
“OK, so I wanted to give you a little baby name update. I’m here with Daniel. There’s been three of our kids that have been kind of hard to name,” Hannah said in a Monday, April 6, Instagram video. “George was hard to name. We actually named him a different name then we changed it a couple months later because it just didn’t fit. Then Martha was hard to name. And then this baby that we just had has been hard to name.”
Hannah shared that she “loved” the name Beatrice, which they called their newborn for a “little bit.” Daniel noted that he was partial to the monikers Greta Jean, Ida and Holly, while Hannah added that she was into the names Ingrid, Bonnie, Sylvette and Dani — in honor of her husband.
“I think part of our problem is, I think we have a really good name list going. … It’s a little too good, so we’re having a hard time choosing a name. We tried these names out. Actually, I think there’s a few different reasons why we have had a hard time naming the child. This pregnancy, I didn’t find out the gender, so it was just a baby in there. But I really felt strongly it was a boy, I was getting total boy vibes. I wanted to do a Jr., like a Daniel Jr. But then it came out a girl.”
She continued, “We did have a girl name too, but we didn’t have a specific one. I think that makes it hard when you’re not calling your baby it’s name in the womb, then I feel like it just is really hard when they come out because it’s like, ‘Are they that? Are they not that?’”
Daniel noted that their eight other children “all have their opinions” on their names, but the couple told the kids, “This is not a democracy.” Hannah then shared that she and Daniel have been calling their little one a name she “really” likes, which he revealed is Imogen.
“That’s our name update. We have been calling her a name for the past few days that we’re going to try out and see if it sticks. If it sticks, then we will announce it soon. If not, I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up. So we are just keeping it chill,” Hannah said.
She captioned the post, “Wanted to give you all a name update for baby girl. Naming children is not for the faint of heart, but we’re getting closer. 🫠♥️💓❤️🔥.”
Hannah and Daniel announced in March that they welcomed their ninth baby. “Wanted to hop on here and say that last night we had a new addition to the family. Baby no. 9. [We are] so happy about [it],” Hannah said in a TikTok video at time, while Daniel panned the camera to show the baby resting in his wife’s arms.
