NASAâs Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore want to clear up any cosmic confusion about their prolonged space trip.
Three weeks after President Donald Trump said the astronauts had been âvirtually abandonedâ on the International Space Station, where they have been for eight months instead of the eight days they were supposed to spend there, the two spoke about how they feel about their predicament.
âWe donât feel abandoned,â Wilmore, 62, told CNNâs Anderson Cooper in a Feb. 13 interview. âWe donât feel stuck. We donât feel stranded. We come prepared. We come committed.â
Floating beside Wilmore, Williams, 59, added the two were âdoing pretty darn good, actually.â
Indeed, as experienced astronauts, spending time in space isnât something they were unprepared for.
âWeâve got food, weâve got clothes, we have great crew members up here,â she continued. âOf course, it was a little bit longer stay than we had expected, but both of us have trained to live and work on the International Space Station and I think weâve made the most of it.â
