Ashley St. Clair claimed her ex Elon Musk wanted a “legion of children before the civil war” in the forthcoming documentary “Musk.”
The former right-wing influencer alleged the billionaire — who has 14 children — made the candid confession in a text message ahead of the 2024 birth of their son Romulus, she told reporters at the Venice Film Festival on Tuesday, the Guardian reported.
When St. Clair was asked if she believed Musk feared a civil war or was trying to fuel the idea of one, she responded, “Whatever it is, what he’s doing with this platform on X cannot be ignored, because he is stoking flames that don’t exist in the real world.”
“He is creating something that is causing real world effects with all of these inputs on X,” she continued. “I do believe that he is causing deliberate division that may be catastrophic if it’s not regulated or tamed, or if we don’t do our part in putting it down.”
Musk, 55, notably acquired X (formerly Twitter) in 2022 and has since shared his political views on the platform, including his support for Germany’s far-right Alternative für Deutschland party.
St. Clair, 28, also told reporters she was offered $40 million on behalf of Musk to remain silent about him in the bombshell documentary.
“When you’re offered something like that [to stay quiet], it really causes a debate in your head about what your speech means and how valuable that is and why do they want to offer me this amount of money to not speak?” she said, per People.
During an interview on the “Don Lemon Show” podcast in June, St. Clair alleged she was presented with the non-disclosure agreement by the Tesla founder’s wealth manager, Jared Birchall.
“Originally, Elon had sent a message to me and Jared that said, ‘Wire Ashley $15 million for a home and reserve capital,’ and that was it,” she claimed. “A few days later, Jared has this two-hour-long phone call with me, where he’s [saying] basically there’s going to have to be some sort of NDA.”
St. Clair, however, turned down the alleged NDA and an additional offer of “$15 million and $100,000 per month for 20 years,” if she kept quiet about their relationship.
“[I was] making the moral decision,” she continued. “I had said to him, ‘I would rather go to a studio apartment with both of my children than sign this.’”
The Alex Gibney-directed documentary premiered at the festival on Tuesday and opens in theaters on Oct. 16.
The four-hour production will walk viewers through Musk’s personal life, including the 14 children he has with four partners; and his professional endeavors, such as his business empire with Tesla, SpaceX and Starlink, and his previous close alliance with President Trump.
While it’s unclear what St. Clair, 28, will shed light on in the feature film, it’s likely she will discuss co-parenting her and Musk’s son and their ongoing custody battle.
St. Clair sued the businessman for sole custody of Romulus in February 2025, and Musk tweeted in January that he was seeking full custody of Romulus after she allegedly expressed her support for the trans community.
Aside from Romulus, he also shares Nevada, Vivian, Griffin, Kai, Saxon, Damian, X Æ A-12, Exa, Strider, Azure, Techno, Arcadia and Seldon Lycurgus with three other partners.
