Aleisha Allen is taking a stroll down memory lane.
The actress, 33, shared a post on Instagram on Jan. 21, in which she recreated a movie moment from Are We There Yet?, as she marked the filmâs 20th anniversary.
The post featured an animated image, which transitioned between a photo of Allen as her character Lindsey Kingston in the 2005 family film and another of herself recreating the moment more recently.
In both photographs, Allen wore a white winter hat with multicolored polka dots, a white knitted scarf and a pink jacket, while standing in front of a train.
Other slides featured in Allenâs post included a funny scene involving a marker and a notepad from Are We There Yet? â which Allen also paid tribute to â as well as solo versions of her 2025 train station selfie and the still she remade.

Are We There Yet? starred Allen as the daughter of Nia Longâs Suzanne Kingston, who, along with her brother Kevin Kingston (Philip Bolden) go on a road trip with their momâs latest boyfriend Nick Persons, played by Ice Cube, when hijinks â and hilarity â ensue.
The filmâs success launched a 2007 sequel and a television spinoff series, which ran from June 2010 to March 2013 on TBS.

In the caption of her post, Allen spoke about the filmâs anniversary and reflected on its legacy. âAs of TODAY, yâall have known this girl, âLindsey,â for 20 YEARS!!!! âAre We There Yet?â premiered on January 21, 2005. So crazy!!! (How could that be, when Iâm only 21?! đđ€Ł),â she began.
Describing her character of Lindsey as âdynamic, sharp, fearless, protective, funny and steadfast,â Allen continued, âSheâs the kind of character that has longevity, had a solid arc of character development for a preteen, and I am honored she was mine to play, in both films.â
As for her âfun little recreationâ of Lindsey after two decades, Allen said, âIt was really trippy putting on this costume again đ”âđ« lol.â
She added that she used âthe SAME BACKPACK and MARKERâ for the recreations she included in her Instagram post.
Then detailing that she has âlots of fond memories from this project,â Allen â who currently has a masterâs degree in speech-language pathology â asked her followers of her sassy character, âWhat career do you think she would have now? đ€ (Better yet, which country do you think sheâd be running? đ).â
âThank you SO much for watching for all these, many, years and for sharing in the joys of this nostalgia with me. đ„° (Yâall getting old đđ),â she concluded.
