News broke last night that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be returning to live in the UK. I was settled down for bed when the reports came in. A huge shock for everyone â perhaps including Harryâs family! This surprise news comes weeks after the Duke had a successful meeting with his father King Charles at Highgrove, along with Meghan and their two children, Prince Archie, and Princess LilibetÂ
The family are moving back to Britain later this month, with plans in place for their children, Archie seven, and five-year-old Lilibet to begin school when term starts in September.
No official announcement has been made about where they will live specifically other than to say it will be âa private, non-royal home base in Britainâ outside of London. They also already have a vacation home in Portugal.Â
They previously lived in Frogmore Cottage, the Windsor residence gifted to them by the late Queen Elizabeth II. The King, 77, asked them to vacate the property for good in 2023.Â
HELLO! understands King Charles was first made aware of these plans on Sunday, August 16, 2026, and that although he is pleased he will have more opportunity to see his son and grandchildren, there will be no alterations to Harry or Meghanâs status within the royal family in accordance with previous decisions.
