Annie Guthrie’s house searched as mom Nancy remains missing

Savannah Guthrie’s sister Annie’s home was reportedly searched on Saturday night amid the disappearance of their 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, who was thought to have been abducted from her house in Tucson, Arizona, a week prior.

According to reports, authorities were seen taking photos at Annie Guthrie’s home, which she shares with her husband, Tommaso Cioni, and they held a lengthy meeting there, at which Savannah was reportedly present.

Authorities were seen leaving Annie’s house hours later. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department shared a statement confirming that there were currently no suspects in the case.

“This remains an active and ongoing investigation,” the statement read. “Detectives and agents continue to conduct follow-up at multiple locations. Details of that follow-up are not being released at this time. Investigators have not identified any suspects, persons of interest, or vehicles connected to this case.”

Annie and Tommaso were the last people to see Nancy before she disappeared between 10 p.m. Saturday night and 6 a.m. Sunday morning. Annie and Tommaso had taken Nancy out to dinner on Saturday night, before he dropped his mother-in-law home between 9:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.

Nancy’s family raised the alarm when she failed to appear at church on Sunday morning, with authorities opening an investigation shortly thereafter.

Savannah and her siblings made a plea to Nancy’s alleged abductors on Saturday, saying that they were prepared to pay for her safe return. Savannah and Annie were joined by their brother, Cameron, in the video.

“We live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know – without a doubt – that she is alive, and that you have her. We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen,” the Today host said in the video.

“We received your message, and we understand,” she continued. “We beg you now to return our mother to us, so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.” Annie added: “The light is missing from our lives. Nancy is our mother. We are her children. She is our beacon. She holds fast to joy in all of life’s circumstances. She chooses joy day after day.”

“Despite having already passed through great trials of pain and grief, we are always going to be merely human, just normal human people who need our mom,” she said, before adding: “Mama, mama, if you’re listening. We need you to come home. We miss you.”

Savannah and Annie are incredibly close, with the TV personality opening up about their bond in her 2024 book Mostly What God Does: Reflections on Seeking and Finding His Love Everywhere.

“My sister is by far the most wise, intelligent, thoughtful, creative, generous and profoundly original person I know,” Savannah wrote. “She is my forever partner in life. We know each other’s thoughts and ways. We know each other’s sadness and weakness. We know each other’s tickle spots and pain points.”
