Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett are officially filming Verity!

The upcoming psychological thriller is based on a book of the same name by It Ends with Us author Colleen Hoover. It features Hathaway, 42, as author Verity Crawford, who is married to Hartnett’s Jeremy Crawford.

In one photo, the on-screen couple can be seen dressed in semi-formal attire, happily running through the streets of New York City together as they hold hands with each another.

Hartnett, 46, leads the way as an unfastened bow tie hangs from the collar of his button-down top. Hathaway holds onto her belongings with her free hand.

Casting for the Devil Wears Prada star as Verity was announced in November 2024, while the Trap actor’s news was shared the following month.

Dakota Johnson will not only executive produce the Amazon MGM Studios movie, but will also star as Lowen, a down-and-out writer who gets the “job offer of a lifetime” to finish Verity’s successful series after a “mysterious accident” has left her unable to do so, per the official synopsis.

Before the cast was announced, Hoover, 45, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter at the premiere of It Ends With Us — her first book-to-movie adaptation to hit the big screen — in August 2024 about the process.

“Right now, they’re all just blurs in my head,” the best-selling author shared with the outlet at the time. “But I’m so excited that this one’s finally starting to take off.”

Verity, which was self-published in 2018, follows Lowen as a family secret makes her question the job and her safety.

“Upon arrival at the lavish Crawford estate, Lowen slowly learns that things are not exactly as they seem with the discovery of a secret, unfinished manuscript that may divulge chilling admissions about the family’s past. As Lowen ingratiates herself with Jeremy and his young son Crew, she must discern if Verity’s writings are merely lurid works of fiction or an ominous warning by a deranged psychopath,” the synopsis adds.

The thriller will be directed by Michael Showalter, who previously directed Hathaway in Prime Video’s The Idea of You.
