Anna Camp comes out as bisexual a year after confirming Jade Whipkey romance

Anna Camp has come out as bisexual one year after confirming her relationship with girlfriend, Jade Whipkey.

“As a 43-year-old woman, I am very proud of myself for owning my sexuality at this age,” Camp said on an upcoming episode of the “I’ve Never Said This Before” podcast in a clip obtained by People.

“I am a very strong person for doing it in somewhat of a spotlight with people criticizing and judging and making assumptions. I’m really proud to be bisexual.” 

The actress also discussed navigating a “major evolution” in her 40s and “not being afraid of it.”

“Sure, there are times I feel like I am taking a risk and this is scary and I’m doing it in a public forum. But to say, ‘No, I only get one life and I want to be happy,’ that’s what life is all about,” she told host Tommy DiDario.

This is the first time the “Pitch Perfect” star confirmed her sexuality since soft-launching her romance with Whipkey, 24, via Instagram last May.

At the time, Camp reposted a photo from Whipkey’s Instagram Stories where they appeared to be on a dinner date.

“Her smile is a poem, her eyes are roses, her laugh is music for dancing,” Whipkey wrote over the photo of Camp smiling over a candle lit dinner.

A TikTok from February 2025 resurfaced around the time of Camp’s soft-launch where the duo spoke about their relationship and Camp proudly said, “I’m dating a woman, and it’s great.”

The couple made their red carpet debut last June at the Los Angeles premiere of “Bride Hard” weeks after they were spotted making out.

Camp and the on-set stylist cuddled up for photos on the carpet. Whipkey pulled Camp in by the waist while and the “You” alum grabbed Whipkey’s face for a kiss.

Shortly after their outing, Camp received backlash for their 18-year age difference, but she was quick to defend their relationship.

“I’ve dated men exactly my age and Jade is FAR more mature than any of them,” she wrote in the comments of an Instagram post. “We have more in common than anyone else I’ve ever dated and can literally talk about anything and everything.”

“Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I’m wishing everyone well 🙂 Especially this Pride month.”

This is Camp’s first public same-sex relationship.

She was previously married to her “Pitch Perfect” co star Skylar Astin from 2016 to 2019.

Her first marriage was to actor Michael Mosley. The couple split in 2013.
