Angelina Jolie was glowing at the premiere of her upcoming film, Couture, in Paris on Monday, as she stepped out in a daring yet elegant naked-style dress. The 50-year-old arrived in the mesh gown, which featured silver floral embellishments, fringe detailing and short sleeves, and paired the look with black stilettos.
She added simple diamond earrings to complete her outfit and wore her blonde locks in a stylish blowout. Angelina stars in the highly anticipated film alongside Ella Rumpf, Anyier Anei and Louis Garrel.
The synopsis reads: âAmerican filmmaker Maxine arrives in Paris for Fashion Week on a life-and-death journey, facing challenges and self-discovery.â The mother of six was drawn to the role of Maxine, due to the characterâs breast cancer journey.Â
Angelinaâs beloved mother, Marcheline Bertrand, passed away in 2007 after a lengthy battle with ovarian and breast cancer, prompting the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider star to undergo a double mastectomy and to have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed.
She carried the BRCA 1 gene mutation that her mother had, which dramatically increased her odds of being diagnosed with ovarian or breast cancer. The humanitarian told TIME France that the film was a âvery personal storyâ for her and praised the director, Alice Winocour, for handling the sensitive subject âwith such delicacyâ.
âToo often, films about womenâs struggles â especially cancer â talk about endings and sadness, rarely about life,â she added. âHardships, illnesses, and pain are part of our existence, but what matters is how we face them.â
Angelina then shared an anecdote from Marchelineâs cancer battle. âMy mother was ill for years. One evening, when she was being asked about her chemotherapy, she became very emotional and told me she would have preferred to talk about something else; she felt as though the illness was becoming her entire identity,â the star recalled.

âI love this film because it tells a story that goes far beyond the journey of a sick person: it shows life. It was this luminous perspective that touched me and made me want to play this role.â
Angelina shared her mastectomy journey with the world in 2013 to help raise awareness of the procedure and the BRCA 1 gene, yet it wasnât until she appeared on the cover of TIME France in December 2025 that she revealed her scars for the first time.Â
âI share these scars with many women I love. And Iâm always moved when I see other women share theirs,â she told the publication. âWhen I shared my experience in 2013, it was to encourage informed choices.â
Angelina revealed to us in October that Couture surprised her with its depiction of people battling breast cancer. âWhen I read in the script, I had an idea of where the film was going to go â and I certainly didnât think it would end the way this film ends, and I didnât think that the man in the film would respond in the way he did, or that the desire would still be a part of the film,â she said.
âAnd I think that itâs really important to understand that and to continue to live and be desirous and feel as a woman, and for those who love those women, to remind them that maybe thatâs something that you can do.â
