Oscar winner Amy Madigan gave an emotional shout-out and thank you to her husband, Ed Harris.
âThe most important [person to thank] is my beloved Ed, whoâs been with me forever, and thatâs a long ass time,â the 75-year-old â who won best supporting actress for her role in âWeaponsâ â told the crowd at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Calif.
âNone of this would mean anything if he wasnât by my side,â she noted before the camera panned over to Harris, who placed his hand over his heart.
The couple tied the knot in 1983 and share one daughter, Lily, whom the actress also thanked in her speech.
âI want to thank my beautiful daughter Lily, her husband Sean and of course all the dogs,â she continued.
âThis is great,â Madigan enthused before thanking her fellow nominees.
The âAntlersâ actress was competing against âSentimental Valueâ stars Elle Fanning and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Wunmi Mosaku of âSinners,â and Teyana Taylor, who was nominated for âOne Day After Anotherâ and immediately jumped to her feet to applaud Madigan.
âI was in the shower last night trying to think of something to say as I was shaving my legs â Iâve got pants on, I donât need to worry about that,â she continued playfully.
Madigan, who was previously nominated in the same category in 1985 for her role in âTwice in a Lifetime,â initially looked shocked when last yearâs winner Zoe Saldaña announced her as the winner before letting out a maniacal laugh.
The âUncle Buckâ star told Page Six earlier this year that Harris is her biggest cheerleader and urged her to be patient for a great role before she snagged the villainous Aunt Gladys in âWeapons.â
âMy husband was always kind of telling me, âYou just wait. Youâre in a perfect spot right now, and something really great is going to come along for you.ââ
Madigan admitted at the time that she didnât really believe him.
âI kind of went, âYeah, sure.â Weâre really good supporters of each other and always have been.â
