Amy Adams turns up the glam on the red carpet, but out of the spotlight she takes a low-key approach.
In this weekâs issue of PEOPLE, the actress, 50, remembers her 14-year-old daughter Aviana requesting that she keep it natural. âShe didnât like me wearing makeup,â Adams recalls.
She continues: âSheâs like, âI just want you to look like Mom, not like Amy Adams.â And I was like, âYou got it.â So there were years where I didnât wear makeup wherever we went. I mean, I sneaked some mascara,â she chuckles. âBut yeah, I wouldnât wear makeup because she wanted me to be just mom.â
More recently, her âfunnyâ teen has offered a few pointers on her typical mom uniform.
âIâm usually the least manicured at my household,â the Nightbitch star says. âBut lately, per my daughterâs request, Iâm working on an upgrade. Sheâs like, âYou canât wear workout clothes if youâre not working out, Mom,â she says with a laugh. â âYou canât just do the leisure part of athleisure.ââ
