Introducing the dream team.
Jessica Markowski, a NYC-based real estate agent and star of Netflix’s Owning Manhattan, teamed up with her friend and fellow influencer Alfonso Cobo to sell his multi-million dollar Tribeca loft for an unexpected price.
The duo shared the news with PEOPLE on Dec. 11, while also detailing the “key” to “securing the sale” that involved a combination of Markowski’s digital influence and Cobo’s unique perspective as both an architect and interior designer.
The Tribeca loft — which featured 21-foot ceilings, minimalist design, custom-made bed and couch plus artwork — sold for $6.925 million. The zinger? Cobo’s gut renovation of the three-bedroom turned one-bedroom increased the price by nearly $3 million.
“Alfonso’s exceptional vision as both an architect and interior designer turned this loft into a masterpiece — and leveraging our combined digital influence was key to securing this sale,” Markowski tells PEOPLE in an exclusive statement.
“This wasn’t just about selling a home,” she continues. “It was about showcasing a lifestyle, and I couldn’t be prouder of the result.”
Cobo — who doubles as a serial tech entrepreneur from Spain, known as the founder of Unfold (which sold for $50M to Squarespace) and Hypelist — studied and worked in architecture first.
“I loved combining my passion for design and architecture with my interior designer Helena Clunies-Ross’ expertise,” Cobo tells PEOPLE exclusively. “She really understood what I envisioned and brought it to life.”
As for his collaboration with Markowski, he credits their ability to work well together due to their similar career trajectories online. “Jessica has been a friend of mine since we were both just getting started on social media, and now that she’s one of the top brokers in New York,” Cobo explains.
“I knew I had to go to her when I was ready to sell — And find my next space and next project,” he adds. To which Markowski agrees, “Representing Alfonso in the sale of this Tribeca trophy property was an incredible experience.”
Markowski says the “synergy between two people who truly understand the power of social media” is what made the Tribeca loft-selling collaboration “so unique.”
On Nov. 14, the pair announced that they’d be teaming up to sell the Tribeca loft in a joint Instagram post. Cobo described it as “a dream project,” while also deeming it “the coolest apartment in Manhattan.”
In the joint post, the pair also revealed that they’d been capturing content of their renovation process along the way. “It’s honestly been so much fun, and have been documenting the journey so we’ll share more on that soon,” the caption read in part.
