Aimee Lou Wood’s teeth are having quite the moment, especially now with the success of her role in The White Lotus, and she knows it.
During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, the British star, 31, admitted that she “can’t believe the impact” her appearance is having on fans and is pleasantly surprised about all the compliments.
In a clip of the interview shared to TikTok, Wood said she’s been seeing lots of American orthodontist videos on social media “analyzing” her teeth, but concluding that she doesn’t need to alter a thing about her look.
“It feels so lovely. A real full-circle moment after being bullied for my teeth forever. Now people are clapping in an audience,” she said.
Host Jonathan Ross praised Wood for setting her own standard and mentioned the possibility of people requesting teeth like hers. However, she said that she hopes fans “don’t start filing their teeth so they have gaps.”

Curiosity around Wood’s teeth may have peaked with her debut in the hit HBO series, in which she plays Charlotte opposite Walter Goggins, but she’s opened up about how the asset has affected her confidence in previous interviews.
Speaking with Stylist in 2020, the Sex Education star said she began to feel empowered when fellow Brit Georgia May Jagger, who has become known for her unique smile, became the face of Rimmel London in 2009. “All of a sudden it went from me being goofy to, ‘Oh, you’re a bit of a model, aren’t you?’ So I want to thank Georgia May Jagger for representing the buck teeth.”

When it came to auditioning, Wood has said she was always “super confident” trying out for theater roles, but was “shocked’ to get a callback for television roles. “I sometimes thought, ‘Oh, a Channel 4 thing, I might have a chance on there.’ Then Sex Education came along and I was like, ‘Well, what have I seen on Netflix? Everyone has perfect Hollywood teeth’.”
Still, the reception has been nothing but great. After landing the Netflix role, Wood — who’s also said she feels “rebellious” for not having veneers — said she has received “hundreds of messages” from fans. “People going, ‘Oh my god, you’ve got teeth like mine,” she said. “Now I go to school and people think I’m cool because I look like Aimee.’ Instead of it being ‘Bugs Bunny’ or whatever.”
