Adriana Lima is one of the most illustrious supermodels in the world and is best known for her work with Victoria’s Secret. She’s 43-years-old, but you’d never guess it. Her secret? A consistent skincare routine that prioritizes sunscreen application.
The model recently shared her full skincare regimen in a YouTube video for Vogue, and all of the steps she follows are extremely attainable (and worth it, if you ask Us). “I think that having the discipline to take care of myself has been paying off,” Lima says in the video.
While she has added in steps over the years, she has been strict with her sunscreen application since childhood. “In Brazil, I wore a lot of sunscreen growing up because I come from Bahia. It’s a very hot place, constantly sunny, so I had to take care of my skin.” She still never skips a day, partially because applying her favorite Kosas DreamBeam Sunscreen doesn’t feel like a chore. “I love this [sunscreen]” she exclaims in the clip. “It’s super light on your skin and it has a nice glow to it.”

Lima’s not wrong about the lightness or glow of this sunscreen. As a beauty writer, Kosas DreamBeam has been my go-to sunscreen since it launched last year. Mineral sunscreens have earned a bad rep for feeling gloopy and leaving an unseemly white cast on skin. The Kosas formula couldn’t be further from that description. The creamy consistency instantly melts into skin, and rather than making me look like a ghost, it provides a subtle sun-kissed glow. The results are so impressive that I often ditch my face makeup altogether when I wear this.
Lima prefers the Original, radiant finish (as do I), and the sunscreen also comes in a golden glow shade called Sunlit, which offers a bronzed effect, for anyone who wants a deeper sun tan look. Keep in mind that the Sunlit shade is ideal for medium to deep skin tones. I’m pretty fair — actually, almost translucent. I’m a redhead — and I found that Sunlit made me look a bit orange. Even though the original has a slight tint, it seamlessly blends into my light skin tone.
Kosas DreamBeam boasts a lightweight texture, making it suitable for all skin types. Yep, even oily skin. “This is the only tinted sunscreen that doesn’t break out my acne prone skin,” one happy reviewer writes. “It’s much better than Supergoop, in my opinion. This product looks so natural on the skin. The tint and very fine and subtle sparkle looks so youthful and hydrated. The applicator tip is fun, gives a clean application and distributes the product well. Such a fantastic clean beauty product.”
If you take just one thing away from Lima’s skincare regimen, let it be the fact that consistent sunscreen application is paramount for achieving a healthy, youthful glow. And if you despise the greasy feeling of traditional sunscreen application, take a note from Lima (and me!) when we say the Kosas DreamBeam Mineral Sunscreen feels like your favorite moisturizer — but better. Your skin will thank you later for grabbing a bottle today!
