Will Trent fans have been left “very confused” after ABC suggested that there would be a two-week break before a new episode – only for TV schedules to reveal that there will be episodes on February 19 and 26. On February 10, episode six of the fourth season aired, and the preview for the following episode claimedthat it would air on March 3.
“WillTrent returns march 3rd?!?!? But I thought we got episodes descriptions for the next two weeks ugh I hate it here,” read one comment on X, as another fan tweeted: “No new #willtrent ep until march 3rd, I hate it here.”
“No Will Trent Tuesdays until March 3rd… how am I supposed to live like this,” quipped one viewer as others called it an “outrage”.
“I’m very confused. The listings on my cable box say next Tuesday but I think that something got moved and it’s pushed back,” commented one viewer in response to a tweet on X, but HELLO! can confirm that the episode will air on February 17.
It appears that the reference to March 3 was an error as ABC has also confirmed that episode seven will air on February 17.
Based on Karin Slaughter’s bestselling book series, Will Trent was the surprise hit of the 2022/2023 TV season, ending as the network’s third most-watched show that year.
It stars Ramon Rodriguez as Special Agent Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Abandoned at birth, Will was raised in the foster system alongside best friend Angie Polaski, now an Atlanta cop (played by Erika Christensen), and using his harsh upbringing alongside his neurodiversity, Will tracks down killers for the GBI.
My favorite thing about the series is how it cleverly balances a silly sense of humor alongside the dark drama the team face each week, something Ramon agreed with in 2024.
“That’s the thing the show does really well, honestly,” Ramon told HELLO! “There’s really heavy emotional stuff and then at other times it’s silly, ridiculous fun. When the whole band gets together, it’s a lot of wrangling.”
Season four of the hit ABC drama has seen Kevin Daniels, known as Detective Franklin Wilks, a steady presence in the Atlanta Police Department, upped to a regular after three seasons as a guest star.
Wilks has been an instrumental character in the show, as he is also Angie’s AA sponsor and is known for his comedic quips; in season four he will take on a more active role in cases.
