Aaron Rodgers subtly shades brother Jordan after reconciling with parents

Aaron Rodgers appeared to throw shade at his brother Jordan Rodgers after ending his years-long estrangement with his parents.

The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback addressed reconciling with his parents, Ed and Darla, explaining that he managed to keep the details of their feud under wraps while other unnamed family members publicly aired their dirty laundry.

“I’ve been really staunch, going back to when there was a schism, that I feel like that stuff should be off limits,” he told the Athletic in an interview published Monday.

“Now, not everybody in the family adhered to the same thing,” Aaron, 42, added, alluding to when Jordan went on the ABC dating show “The Bachelorette” in 2016 and told viewers about their estrangement.

“But there are different things, situations, experiences, and people that actually change your life,” he continued while shying away from saying Jordan’s name.

A rep for Aaron wasn’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.

Jordan, 37, starred on Season 12 of “The Bachelorette” alongside his now-wife, JoJo Fletcher, whom he wed in 2022.

While competing with other men for Fletcher’s hand in marriage, Jordan introduced her to his family, including his parents and brother Luke, during a hometown visit to Chico, California.

At the time, Aaron was notably not in attendance, and Jordan didn’t shy away from vulnerably talking about the NFL star’s absence.

“Me and Aaron don’t really have that much of a relationship,” he candidly shared. “It’s just kind of the way he’s chosen to do life, and I’ve chosen to stay close with my family and my parents and my brother.”

“Yeah, it’s not ideal, and I love him,” Jordan continued. “I can’t imagine what it’s like to be in his shoes and have the pressure he has, the demands from people that he has. I don’t have hard feelings against him. It’s just how things are right now.”

In the episode, the family sat down for dinner, leaving two additional seats open for Aaron and his then-girlfriend, Olivia Munn, whom he dated from 2014 to 2017.

However, Aaron shared in the 2024 documentary “Enigma” that he was never invited to appear on the “stupid dating show” and wouldn’t have gone even if he was.

‘They go on a bulls–t show and leave two empty chairs?” he said. “They all agree that this is a good thing to do — to leave two empty chairs at a stupid dating show that my brother just went on to get famous. His words, not mine.”

Additionally, the football quarterback shared that he and his parents became distant due to their devout Christian beliefs.

“I felt like the love that I was modeled growing up, it’s kind of a merit-based spirituality,” he shared. “If you don’t believe you deserve that love, it’s hard for you to give it, and it’s sure as hell hard for you to receive it.”

Aaron explained that he was only close to Jordan growing up. However, their relationship became rocky as a result of “stuff from high school … stuff in college, stuff post-college.”

Then, in July, Aaron revealed that he had reunited with his family for “another bonding week,” alongside sweet photos of his parents and Luke shared via Instagram.

While Jordan was notably not photographed, Aaron stated in an interview with NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt the following month that he had reconciled with “all” of his family.

“It’s been a couple-year process now, the conversations,” he told Brandt, crediting his mystery wife, Brittani, for pushing him to call his family.

“You know, a big part of it was getting married, and having those conversations with my wife that allowed me to kind of open up to the possibility of coming together,” Aaron explained.

The Super Bowl champ has kept his wife’s identity and their relationship under wraps, only revealing in December 2024 that they were dating before privately tying the knot a few months later.
