’90s star Mira Sorvino looks ageless decades after Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion as she turns 59

Mira Sorvino looked so youthful ahead of her appearance at the D23 Expo in California with her friend and co-star, Lisa Kudrow, just weeks before her 59^th birthday.

The blonde beauty took to Instagram to share a snap from behind the scenes of the special day, during which she and Lisa shared further insight into the sequel to their cult classic 1997 film Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.

Mira’s ageless look

In the photo, Mira stood tall in a black minidress over a blue button-up vest, paired with black stockings and black high heels. She wore her blonde locks down in glamorous waves and kept her makeup natural.

Lisa stood beside her in a yellow button-up shirt and a black maxi skirt, before the pair changed into their Romy and Michele-themed outfits in coordinating purple and pink for D23. “From businesswomen…to Disney princesses!” the text over the photos read.

“The girls are BAACK!! Yayy! and the FASHIONS!!” wrote one fan, while another added that Mira was “a fierce actress and beautiful person”. A third chimed in: “The crush I used to have on @mirasorvino because of the original has just been reignited!!! Flawless!!!” while another said: “The most iconic to ever do itttt.”

Returning to Romy and Michele

Mira rose to fame in 1997 thanks to her role as Romy White in the comedy, alongside Lisa as Michele Weinberger. While the movie only achieved a modest amount of success at the box office, it gained cult classic status over the years thanks to a dedicated fan base.

The star, who turned 59 on Monday, opened up about stepping back into the role almost 30 years later, sharing that the character quickly came back to her.

s”The first day it was like, ‘Wait, am I just imitating things Romy used to do or say?… And then eventually it was like, ‘Yeah, Romy’s back. She’s using my skin suit,'” Mira told People.

The blonde beauty added that working with Lisa had been a dream from the beginning. “I come to Lisa for advice,” Mira said. “She’s an incredibly sage, brilliant person. And she’s funny, thoughtful, and just a great person. And Lisa’s also the funniest woman. I mean, Lisa is our premier comedian. She really is.”

As for the film’s impact on pop culture, the mother of four explained that Romy and Michele had “become part of the fixture of American life”.

“People dress up as us for Pride, for Halloween…babies, dogs,” she said. “I’m really honored. I’m so happy that something we did together actually means something to a lot of people for a variety of reasons.”
