Mickey Rourke has been evicted from his home in Los Angeles, according to a court judgement made on Monday. The court documents detail that his rental home, which he has reportedly lived in for more than a decade, would return to the possession of the landlord after the judgment was entered âby defaultâ.Â
This means that Mickey likely did not respond to the initial complaint. The court also ordered that the rental agreement be canceled and the lease forfeited, with the judgment stating that it was for âpossession onlyâ, so the landlord would have control over the property but would receive no financial damages.
According to court filings from December, Mickey had been ordered to repay the $59,100 he owed in rent to the landlord or vacate the property. He was seen moving out of the home in January and has been living in a hotel in West Hollywood ever since.
Mickeyâs financial plight garnered publicity in January when his managerâs assistant created a GoFundMe page to raise money for him, which angered the Iron Man 2Â star. He took to Instagram to deny any involvement in the fundraiser, sharing that he âwouldnât know what a GoFund[Me] foundation is in a million yearsâ and that he has âtoo much prideâ to ask for help.
âIf I needed money, I wouldnât ask for no [expletive] charity,â he said. âMy life is very simple, I wouldnât go to outside sources like that.â Mickeyâs manager, Kimberly Hines, explained to The Hollywood Reporter that the actor was resisting financial aid and that his house had become unlivable.
âWe said, âMickey, thereâs some people that want to help you out.â Heâs like, âOkay, great.â I donât think he understood, and now itâs taken on this media frenzy, and he flipped out,â she said of his viral video.
âIn the last 48 hours, we moved him out of his house; we put him up in [a hotel]. The GoFundMe was done for Mickey. That moneyâs going to Mickey. Itâs not going to me. And if Mickey doesnât want this money now and decides, âI donât want help, itâs like itâs charity,â the money will be returned.â

She added that Mickeyâs home had fallen into a dire state of disrepair. âHe has no furniture there because the state of his house was so bad,â Kimberly said.
âMy assistant was there, Eric, with his best friend, Frenchie, and they went over, and there was actually even a camera guy who filmed it all. There was black mold. No running water. So basically, we canât even move any of the furniture out.â
âThere was water damage. So he canât even take most of his belongings with him because all the furniture is completely destroyed,â she explained. âEric and Frenchie were at his house packing up all of his valuables that could be salvaged, and they were moved to this new apartment.â
Despite Mickeyâs bad luck, Kimberly shared that he had received four movie offers in one day since his plight had gone public. âPeople are emailing him movie offers now, which is great because nobodyâs been calling him for a long time.â
The 73-year-old rose to fame in the â80s with roles in Body Heat, Rumble Fish, Year of the Dragon and Barfly, and continued to find success with projects like The Rainmaker, Man on Fire, Sin City, The Wrestler and The Expendables. He has won a Golden Globe and a BAFTA, and was nominated for an Oscar and a SAG Award for his work in The Wrestler.
